Sacred Celebrations of Cosmic Victory

Festivals Rooted in Ancient Vedic Rites, Asura Kriya, and Devotee Participation

At Shree Kshethra Kalluhithilu Asura Karma Sannidhi, festivals are consecrated spiritual occasions where the collective devotion of pilgrims converges with intense Tantric sadhana. Each festival commemorates the triumph of divine righteousness (Dharma) over destructive ego (Asura Karma).

From the thunderous beats of traditional chande drums during the Varshika Mahotsava to the serene, mystical lamps flickering in the Naga Kavu on Ayilyam, our festivals offer devotees a transformative sanctuary of spiritual renewal, community Annadanam, and divine grace.

Varshika Mahotsava & Jathre

The Varshika Mahotsava is the crowning annual celebration at Shree Kshethra Kalluhithilu. Celebrated over multiple consecrated days, the festival attracts thousands of devotees from across Kerala and Karnataka.

The festival commences with ceremonial Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting), followed by continuous Vedic parayanas, special Asura Kriya Mahahomas for collective and individual peace, and grand night processions with illuminated palanquins. The climax features the awe-inspiring Mantra Guliga Nema (sacred spirit ritual dance) sealing divine protection over the land and its devotees.

🔱 9 Nights of the Divine Mother

Sharada Navaratri Brahmotsavam

During the holy autumn festival of Navaratri, the sanctum of Goddess Mantrika Bhadrakali becomes the epicentre of divine shakti. Each of the nine nights reflects a unique aspect of the Supreme Mother, adorned in breathtaking traditional alankaras.

Priests conduct daily Lalitha Sahasranama Kumkumarchana and sacred Chandi Parayana. On Durgashtami and Mahanavami, powerful Asura Kriya homas are ignited to vanquish internal impurities, jealousy, and negative forces. The festival culminates in Vijayadashami, blessing seekers with spiritual victory and sacred Vidyarambham for children.

🌙 All-Night Sacred Vigil

Maha Shivaratri & Guliga Nema

Maha Shivaratri is observed at the Sannidhi as a night of deep tapas, meditation, and cosmic realignment. Devotees observe complete fast and participate in the continuous four-prahar Rudrabhishekam throughout the night.

As the night reaches its mystical peak, special protective ceremonies are dedicated to Mantra Guliga (Kshetra Pala). Amid the glow of oil torches, sacred offerings are placed to honor the guardian deity, shielding devotees from witchcraft, evil eyes, and untimely calamities.

Ayilyam & Sarpa Bali Mahotsava

In harmony with the venerable traditions of Kerala and coastal Karnataka, every monthly Ayilyam nakshatra, especially the grand Kumbham Ayilyam and Vrischikam Ayilyam, is celebrated with profound solemnity in the temple's sacred Naga Kavu.

Surrounded by ancient trees, the stone idols of the serpent deities receive Noorum Palum (a sacred paste of rice powder, milk, lime, and turmeric), raw milk abhishekam, and yellow areca flowers. Devotees afflicted by Sarpa Dosha, delayed marriages, or childlessness find immense solace and blessings.
